What Is This? This is a method for simulating a big battle without worrying about the pesky spatial element. Instead of fussing about with maps and tokens, each side of a conflict is represented by a list of troops, advantageous land features and traps. Complexity comes in the interplay of troop types, the decision between small troop strength vs high initiative, and making good use of your terrain. These rules were designed to be used alongside Troika! RPG, and uses some of its mechanics but it is completely self-contained and could be used as a standalone game, or a strategic minigame for your system of choice.
